Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant - SEND and Primary Schools in Stockport, Greater Manchester

Full-Time | 8:30am - 3:30pm

Aspire People are looking for a caring and dedicated Sports coach / Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. You will be supporting a child with ADHD, ASD, and emotional or behavioural challenges, helping them feel confident, supported, and engaged in their learning.

Your Role

  • Deliver fun, structured sports and physical activity sessions tailored to SEND pupils.
  • Support pupils in the classroom as a Teaching Assistant, encouraging engagement and positive behaviour.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Adapt activities and learning support to suit individual needs and abilities.
  • Promote teamwork, confidence, and wellbeing throughout the school day.
  • Maintain attendance records and follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times.

About You

You’re energetic, patient, and genuinely enjoy working with children who need a little extra support.

Essential

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • A positive, caring, and motivational approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A commitment to inclusivity, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.
  • First Aid and Safeguarding certificates (or willingness to obtain).
  • Willingness to provide or apply for a DBS certificate.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport.
