Aspire People are currently working with a secondary school in Stockport to recruit an experienced Behaviour Teaching Assistant for an immediate start. This is a long-term opportunity supporting students with challenging behaviour and additional needs.
Please note: The school is not accessible by public transport, therefore access to a car is essential.
The Role:
- Supporting students with challenging behaviour, either 1:1 or in small groups
- Implementing and consistently following the school's behaviour policy
- Supporting pupils to remain engaged in learning and regulate behaviour
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
- Providing a calm, firm, and positive presence in the classroom and around school
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience working with challenging behaviour (school, PRU, alternative provision, care, or youth work experience considered)
- Confident in behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Able to start immediately
- DBS registered on the Update Service (essential for immediate start)
- Able to provide references covering the last 2 years
- Reliable, resilient, and consistent in approach
- Access to a car due to school location
Desirable:
- Degree in Psychology, Criminology, Youth Studies, or a related field
- Experience working with secondary-aged pupils
- Background in SEN, SEMH, or pastoral support
