The Role As a Secondary Supply Teacher, your responsibilities may include: Delivering engaging and effective lessons in line with school schemes of work Teaching students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and Key Stage 5 where appropriate Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment Following lesson plans and adapting teaching where necessary Assessing and supporting students' learning and progress Providing appropriate challenge and support to meet different learning needs Maintaining high expectations of students' behaviour and achievement Working collaboratively with teaching staff and school leadership Following school policies and safeguarding procedures Providing feedback to the school where appropriate Ensuring the continuity of learning during staff absence For longer-term positions, you may also have responsibilities such as planning and marking, attending departmental meetings, contributing to schemes of work and taking part in parents' evenings where required.
