Aspire People are working closely with a friendly and welcoming primary school in St Helens, who are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting young learners and wants to play a key role in helping children feel confident, engaged, and ready to learn. The school offers a positive, structured environment where staff work collaboratively to support pupils both academically and socially.
The role:
- Supporting primary-aged pupils within the classroom, working 1:1 and in small groups.
- Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery.
- Helping pupils stay focused, motivated, and engaged in learning.
- Supporting children's social development, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Preparing learning resources and supporting classroom organisation.
- Working closely with teaching staff to provide a consistent and supportive learning experience.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting (school-based, childcare, or similar experience welcomed).
- Is positive, patient, and approachable, with a genuine interest in supporting children's learning.
- Can build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.
- Can provide professional references.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS or is willing to apply for one.
