Do you love the outdoors and want to inspire young people to learn beyond the classroom? We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Outdoor Learning Facilitator to join a welcoming SEN setting in the St Albans area.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with UK school-based experience, particularly those who have worked as a HLTA, Cover Supervisor, or in a similar teaching-support role, and who thrives in a hands-on, outdoor learning environment.
This role would suit someone who:
- Has teaching or classroom leadership experience in the UK, such as HLTA or Cover Supervisor experience
- Has worked with children in a school-based or educational setting (including SEN)
- Enjoys working outdoors in all seasons and using nature as a meaningful learning space
- Can confidently support pupils with a range of SEN needs, both 1:1 and in small groups
- Is patient, flexible, creative, and proactive
- Is motivated to make a real difference to children's confidence, wellbeing, and engagement
Key responsibilities:
- Leading and supporting engaging outdoor learning sessions that encourage curiosity and practical skill development
- Delivering activities that link to the primary curriculum in a creative, accessible way
- Supporting pupils with additional needs in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and support teams
- Helping to plan and adapt outdoor activities to meet individual learning needs
What we're looking for:
- UK-based school experience in a teaching, HLTA, or Cover Supervisor role (essential)
- Experience supporting children with SEN
- A genuine passion for outdoor and experiential learning
