We are currently recruiting experienced School Caretakers for a variety of Primary, Secondary, and SEND schools across Shropshire. These positions suit practical, dependable individuals who are confident overseeing the day-to-day running, maintenance, and security of school premises. This role requires someone who can work independently, take initiative, and manage site responsibilities effectively from the outset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening and locking school sites, ensuring full site security at all times
- Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and basic building upkeep
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations across the premises
- Conducting routine inspections and reporting any faults or hazards
- Supervising contractors and ensuring work is completed safely
- Maintaining outdoor areas including grounds, pathways, and entrances
- Supporting with room moves, deliveries, and school events
- Monitoring and managing site systems such as heating, lighting, and alarms
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a School Caretaker or Site Supervisor is essential
- Good working knowledge of health & safety within a school environment
