We are currently seeking experienced Attendance Officers to work within a range of schools across Telford, including primary, secondary, and SEN settings. Schools are looking for reliable and proactive candidates who are confident managing attendance processes, handling sensitive information, and supporting safeguarding procedures within busy education environments.

This role would suit candidates with previous school administration or attendance experience who can hit the ground running and work effectively as part of a wider office and pastoral team.

Main Duties
  • Recording and monitoring daily attendance and punctuality
  • Carrying out first day absence calls and following up attendance concerns
  • Updating and maintaining attendance data using ARBOR, SIMS, and BROMCOM
  • Producing attendance reports and data for leadership teams
  • Supporting safeguarding and welfare procedures linked to attendance
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Managing attendance correspondence, meetings, and referrals
  • Supporting reception and administrative duties when required
  • Ensuring all records are accurate, confidential, and compliant with school procedures
Candidate Criteria
  • Previous experience within a school office or attendance-based role is essential
  • Experience working within primary, secondary, or SEN schools is desirable
  • Knowledge of attendance procedures and safeguarding requirements
  • Experience using ARBOR, SIMS, and/or BROMCOM
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Competent using Microsoft Office systems
Important Information
  • No training will be provided; candidates must be experienced and ready to start immediately
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable
  • Candidates without an Enhanced DBS will be required to obtain and pay for their own Enhanced DBS check
  • All appointments are subject to safeguarding and reference checks
