About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a nurturing Alternative Provision where creativity is used to engage, motivate and inspire learners. As the Music Teacher, you'll deliver engaging lessons that develop practical musical skills while encouraging confidence, teamwork and self-expression. Drumming experience is preferred, as percussion plays an important role in the school's music provision, although applicants with broader musical experience are encouraged to apply. You'll create an inclusive environment where students can experience success, develop resilience and express themselves positively through music.
What We're Looking For
- Preferably QTS or relevant teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Music across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Drumming or percussion experience preferred
- Ability to inspire and engage students with diverse learning needs
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A flexible, positive and resilient approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience delivering practical music performance
- Experience within an Alternative Provision or specialist setting
- Knowledge of music technology or recording
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice
