Position: Full-time SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Location: Knowsley, Liverpool

Start Date: ASAP - July 2026

Salary: £90 - £105 per day (Salary dependent on experience)

Aspire People are working with a supportive and inclusive Mainstream Primary School in Knowsley who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with a diagnosis of ASC and behavioural challenges. The child has an EHCP in place, and you will play a key role in implementing tailored strategies to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals to ensure the child's needs are fully supported in a positive, structured learning environment.

The role:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with ASC and behavioural needs
  • Supporting the implementation of strategies and targets outlined in the EHCP
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENDCo, and outside agencies
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, self-regulation, and emotional wellbeing
  • Helping the pupil to access learning and participate in classroom activities

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting children with ASC and/or behavioural difficulties (essential)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children who may become dysregulated
  • The ability to build trusting relationships and provide consistent support
  • The ability to provide two professional references
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
