SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary) – Coventry
Location: Coventry
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (term-time)
Start Date: As soon as possible (or specify)

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs in a welcoming and inclusive school in Coventry. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young children thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for primary pupils with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties)
  • Support children in the classroom, helping them access the curriculum
  • Assist with early literacy, numeracy, and play-based learning activities
  • Help pupils develop social skills, confidence, and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Support behaviour management using positive strategies
  • Assist with personal care where required (training provided)

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally with SEN
  • Be patient, nurturing, and adaptable
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Be a reliable team player with good communication skills
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding children
