Are you an enthusiastic, dedicated SEND Teacher with a passion for working with young children? We are looking for a committed professional to join a specialist setting in South Liverpool, supporting children with a wide range of complex learning, sensory, communication, and physical needs in the Early Years and Key Stage 1. This full-time temp-to-perm role is perfect for an experienced SEND teacher or someone with strong SEND experience who is looking to step into a more specialized environment.

About the Role

  • In this nurturing and supportive environment, you will be integral to the development of young children with complex needs, focusing on their holistic development and ensuring they experience meaningful learning.
  • Lead a small class of EYFS and KS1 pupils with complex needs.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalized lessons across a semi-formal curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching strategies for pupils with autism, sensory needs, communication difficulties, and learning disabilities.
  • Collaborate with therapists, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to learning.
  • Use assessment frameworks to track progress and adjust learning goals to meet individual needs.
  • Create a warm, welcoming, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Implement positive behaviour support strategies and communication tools to support pupils' social and emotional development.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) - this is essential.
  • Experience teaching children with SEND (autism, communication difficulties, SLD, PMLD).
  • Knowledge of EYFS and KS1 curriculum and best practices for SEND.
  • Ability to lead a team of support staff and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A deep commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
