A dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive primary school in Walsall. This rewarding role will involve working within the school’s Resource Base, supporting a small group of pupils with additional needs (mainly ASD and SEMH) and working with a passionate team of support staff to create engaging lessons and activities.
The Role:
- Full-time HLTA position
- Delivering planned interventions and small-group learning activities
- Working closely with support staff to support pupils' individual learning targets
- Promoting inclusion and helping pupils access the wider curriculum
- Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, parents, and external agencies where required
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a HLTA qualification or have substantial experience working at HLTA level
- Have experience supporting children with SEND, including ASD and SEMH
- Be confident leading small-group learning and delivering targeted interventions
- Have a strong understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to support pupils with additional needs
- Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with children, staff, and families
- Be patient, adaptable, and committed to helping pupils achieve their potential
