1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Stechford

Full-Time | September Start | 1-Year Contract

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a male pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school in Stechford. This is a rewarding but demanding role supporting a pupil who requires consistent guidance, structure, and supervision throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support in and out of the classroom
  • Supporting a pupil with ASD who can be boisterous and highly energetic
  • Managing behaviours such as running, charging around the classroom, and climbing
  • Assisting with toileting and personal care needs
  • Promoting engagement, learning, and positive behaviour
  • Working closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience supporting children with ASD and SEND
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Confidence supporting personal care needs
  • The ability to maintain firm boundaries while building a positive relationship
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude
