1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Stechford
Full-Time | September Start | 1-Year Contract
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a male pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school in Stechford. This is a rewarding but demanding role supporting a pupil who requires consistent guidance, structure, and supervision throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support in and out of the classroom
- Supporting a pupil with ASD who can be boisterous and highly energetic
- Managing behaviours such as running, charging around the classroom, and climbing
- Assisting with toileting and personal care needs
- Promoting engagement, learning, and positive behaviour
- Working closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience supporting children with ASD and SEND
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Confidence supporting personal care needs
- The ability to maintain firm boundaries while building a positive relationship
- A proactive and adaptable attitude
