Overview

SEN Tutor, London. £25 - £35 per hour. Full time & Part time available.

Aspire People are currently recruiting Tutors to support the learning and development of Children requiring home tutoring. Aspire People is committed to closing the attainment gap for children outside of formal schooling. We work with a wide range of Looked After Children in care who have a diverse set of needs. Tutors provide learning assistance for young people preparing for exams or re-adjusting to mainstream education. We are currently seeking tutors for home tuition and school-based support with a focus on delivering core skills in English, Maths, Science and behaviour.

Responsibilities

  • Support learning and development for Children requiring home tutoring and Looked After Children in care with diverse needs.
  • Provide learning assistance for students preparing for exams or re-adjusting to mainstream education.
  • Deliver core skills in English, Maths, Science and behaviour support in home tuition and school-based settings.
  • Work with students to implement positive behaviour strategies to help self-regulate emotions.
  • Maintain excellent written communication and reporting; demonstrate excellent timekeeping and reliability.

Skills and Experience

  • Teachers for all subjects required, with a particular focus on English, Maths & Science (No QTS needed).
  • Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people in the care system and those with SEN.
  • Positive behaviour strategy knowledge and experience of helping children self-regulate emotions.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check.
  • Excellent written communication and reporting.
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
