SEN Tutor — London

Salary: 25 – 30 per hour

Contract: Full time & Part time available

Aspire People are currently recruiting Tutors to support the learning and development of Children requiring home tutoring. Aspire People is committed to closing the attainment gap for children outside of formal schooling. We work with a wide range of Looked After Children in care who have a diverse set of needs. Tutors provide learning assistance for young people preparing for exams or re-adjusting to mainstream education. We are currently seeking tutors for home tuition and school-based support with a focus on delivering core skills in English, Maths, Science and behaviour support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide learning assistance for students requiring home tuition or school-based support.
  • Support delivery of core skills in English, Maths and Science and utilise behaviour strategies to help children self-regulate emotions.
  • Support students who are preparing for exams or re-adjusting to mainstream education.
  • Work with Looked After Children with diverse needs to support their learning goals.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Teachers for all subjects required, with a particular focus on English, Maths & Science (No QT needed).
  • Understanding and appreciation of working with vulnerable young people in the care system and those with SEN.
  • Positive behaviour strategy knowledge and experience of helping children self-regulate emotions.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check.
  • Excellent written communication and reporting.
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
