Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Solihull. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone who is committed to helping pupils achieve both academically and personally.
The Role:
- Provide one-to-one support and small group interventions for pupils with SEND.
- Support children with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans.
- Adapt learning activities to meet pupils' individual needs and learning styles.
- Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in lessons.
- Promote positive behaviour and support pupils with emotional regulation.
- Assist with academic, social and emotional development throughout the school day.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant.
- Experience supporting children within a primary school setting.
- Knowledge of SEND and strategies to support pupils effectively.
- Patient, caring and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
