Aspire People is currently working with a welcoming and well-resourced school in the Kings Heath area, who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who need additional support to reach their full potential.

This supportive and inclusive school provides education for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). The staff team is highly experienced and passionate about creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
With small class sizes and a strong team ethos, the school places a high value on positive relationships, consistency, and promoting independence in every pupil. You will be working alongside skilled teachers and support staff, contributing to a positive and purposeful learning experience.
Your Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN
- Assist the class teacher with planning, resources, and classroom management
- Implement individual learning plans and behaviour support strategies
- Help create a calm, nurturing classroom environment
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, parents, and outside professionals
About You
- Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a school setting
- Calm, patient, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills
- Confident in managing challenging behaviours in a positive, proactive way
- A team player with a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, Autism Awareness) are desirable but not essential
