This supportive and inclusive school provides education for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). With small class sizes and a strong team ethos, the school places a high value on positive relationships, consistency, and promoting independence in every pupil. You will be working alongside skilled teachers and support staff, contributing to a positive and purposeful learning experience.

Your Role

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher with planning, resources, and classroom management
  • Implement individual learning plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Help create a calm, nurturing classroom environment
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, parents, and outside professionals

About You

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a school setting
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills
  • Confident in managing challenging behaviours in a positive, proactive way
  • A team player with a genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, Autism Awareness) are desirable but not essential
