Aspire People have partnered with a successful all through-SEN school based in Leicester who are seeking Classroom Assistants to support their primary department with children aged 4-11 with SEN needs. The successful candidate will be joining a warm, inclusive, and motivated team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing 1:1 support to learners with additional learning needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH and other forms of SEN. They will support the main teachers by undertaking a range of non-teaching duties such as contributing to the preparation of teaching materials in order to assist with the promotion, help with reading, writing and helping children concentrate.
The person we are looking for will have:
- Experience that is appropriate to working with children in a learning environment
- Experience working with children in schools or other childcare provisions
- Experience working with vulnerable individuals (children or adults)
- An awareness of children/young person's development and learning
- Excellent interpersonal skills in order to build relationships with a range of staff, children, young people and their families and carers
- The ability to implement behaviour management strategies, in line with the school's policy and procedures
- Availability Monday to Friday and can commit to 8:30am - 3:30pm school days
- Must have DBS on update service or be willing to take out a new one
