Are you a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time role in a supportive primary school?
We are working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Northfield seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long‑term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and make a lasting impact on their educational journey.
The Role
- Provide one‑to‑one support and small group interventions for pupils with SEND.
- Support children with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.
- Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning requirements.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support plans.
- Encourage participation, independence and positive behaviour.
- Support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day.
- Build strong, positive relationships to help pupils develop confidence and reach their potential.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working in a primary school or supporting children with SEND.
- A patient, nurturing and positive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of inclusive learning practices.
- Ability to remain calm and resilient when supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
