We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Milton Keynes seeking an exceptional SEN Unit Lead to join their team from September until January.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated SEN provision, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs while also undertaking a small teaching commitment within the unit.
The Role
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the school's SEN unit, ensuring high-quality provision for all pupils.
- Plan, deliver and oversee tailored learning programmes that meet individual needs.
- Provide engaging teaching within the SEN unit as part of the timetable.
- Lead and support Teaching Assistants, ensuring effective deployment and professional development.
- Work collaboratively with the SENCO, senior leadership team, teachers, parents and external agencies.
- Monitor pupil progress and ensure appropriate interventions are in place.
- Create a nurturing, inclusive and structured learning environment where every child can thrive.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Has substantial experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs within a primary setting.
- Has experience leading or managing an SEN provision, resource base or specialist unit.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or has significant leadership experience within an SEN environment.
- Has a thorough understanding of a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
- Is an excellent communicator with strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Is passionate about delivering inclusive education and achieving positive outcomes for every child.
