Here at Aspire People, we are currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Specialist Teaching Assistants to join a successful and supportive Learning Support team. If you have experience working with secondary-age pupils with SEMH needs and are passionate about making a positive difference in students\’ lives, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to secondary-age students with SEMH needs within the classroom and on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons to meet the individual needs of students
* Support students in managing their emotions, behaviours, and social interactions
* Work closely with the teaching staff and SENCO to develop and implement individual learning plans
* Monitor and record students\’ progress, and provide feedback to teachers and parents
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and calm learning environment for students
* Contribute to the broader life of the school, supporting school activities and initiatives where required
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with secondary-age pupils with SEMH needs (preferred)
* A passion for supporting students with diverse needs and helping them to achieve their full potential
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
* A proactive and patient approach to supporting students
* A relevant qualification in supporting students with additional needs (e.g., Level 2/3 TA qualification, or equivalent)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Understanding of safeguarding policies and a commitment to the wellbeing of students
