Aspire People are currently recruiting passionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join a specialist Primary Alternative Provision in Bolton from September. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates, particularly those with a background in Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field, who are looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

This specialist setting supports pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 who have been permanently excluded or are at serious risk of exclusion from mainstream education. All pupils attend on a full-time basis and typically spend a period within the provision before either successfully returning to mainstream education or moving on to a specialist setting. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment for pupils who may have missed significant parts of their education and who have often experienced negative educational journeys that have impacted their confidence, self-worth, and engagement with learning.

The Role

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that help children feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
