Aspire People are seeking a dedicated and proactive SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a primary school environment who require additional emotional and behavioural support. The school is looking for someone who can provide consistent, structured support to help pupils access learning while developing positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation skills. This role may involve working with pupils across the classroom, in small groups, and occasionally on a 1:1 basis depending on need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs in the classroom
  • Assisting with behaviour management strategies
  • Supporting emotional regulation and de-escalation where required
  • Helping pupils engage with learning activities and routines
  • Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or SEND needs
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Experience within a UK school or transferable child-related role
  • A genuine commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
