The Role

  • Assisting classroom teachers in delivering lessons and supporting the educational needs of students.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students who may need extra help, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them to stay focused and engaged.
  • Helping to prepare classroom materials and resources for lessons.
  • Encouraging student participation and maintaining a positive, inclusive atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Providing pastoral care and support to students throughout the school day.
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress to the classroom teacher.

About You

  • Has a genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their educational development.
  • Is patient, caring, and able to build strong relationships with students.
  • Demonstrates a flexible and proactive approach to working in a variety of school environments.
  • Has excellent communication skills and is a team player.
  • Experience working with young people, whether in a formal education setting or other support roles, is desirable but not essential.
  • A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is an advantage, but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is a bonus, but not essential.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (through Aspire People).
