Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive PE lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH.
- Promote physical well-being and help students develop social, emotional, and personal skills through sport and physical activity.
- Support the emotional and mental health development of students, using PE as a tool to build confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
- Work closely with other staff, including SENCO, to ensure that the needs of all students are addressed within the PE curriculum.
- Provide constructive feedback and regular assessments to help students progress both physically and emotionally.
- Encourage the values of teamwork, respect, and fair play through positive role modeling in physical activities.
About You:
- Qualified PE Teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and a genuine passion for working with students who have SEMH needs.
- Experience in working with children and young people, preferably in an SEMH or special education setting.
- An understanding of how physical activity can be used to support social, emotional, and mental health development.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with students who may face emotional or behavioural challenges.
