We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEND/SEMH provision in Arnold from July 2026 until July 2027. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people who require a bespoke educational approach. The provision supports students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who may have Special Educational Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion, are without a school place, or are disengaged from education.
Although students are secondary age, many are working at a primary academic level, therefore applications are welcomed from both Primary and Secondary trained teachers, provided candidates hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have strong Maths teaching skills.
The Role- Deliver engaging Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students.
- Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of educational, social and emotional needs.
- Initially, lesson planning will be provided through to the October half-term.
- Following this period, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake planning, preparation and marking responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with support staff and wider professionals to help students achieve positive outcomes.
The provision is committed to meeting the unique educational, social and emotional needs of its diverse student population within a safe, nurturing environment. Staff focus on developing the whole child by reinforcing academic, personal and social skills, enabling students to progress into post-16 opportunities and become productive, successful members of society.
Requirements- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
- Experience working with SEND, SEMH, alternative provision or challenging behaviour is desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A flexible, patient and empathetic approach to teaching.
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30am - 4:00pm
- Term time only
£170 - £200 per day, dependent on experience.
