Aspire People are currently recruiting for a flexible and enthusiastic Floating Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Yardley. This is a full-time position starting in September 2026 and continuing until July 2027. This varied and rewarding role will involve supporting pupils and staff across the whole school, from Early Years through to Year 6. The successful candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and confident working with children of different ages and abilities, stepping into classes where support is needed most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
  • Work alongside class teachers to support teaching and learning.
  • Deliver small group interventions and targeted support where required.
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs, helping them to access the curriculum.
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and general classroom organisation.
  • Adapt quickly to different year groups, routines, and learning environments.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
  • A flexible and positive approach to supporting children across all age groups.
  • Confidence working with pupils from Early Years through to Year 6.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to use initiative and respond effectively to the needs of the school.
