Learning Support Assistants for primary schools and are particularly interested in people with transferable experience working with children and young people.

You could have worked as a tutor, youth worker, sports coach, mentor, childcare professional, nursery practitioner, teaching volunteer, or in another child-focused role .

Your existing experience could give you many of the skills needed to succeed in a primary school.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils within the classroom
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Assisting with reading, writing, Maths, and classroom activities
  • Supporting pupils with SEND where required
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Helping children develop confidence and independence
  • Working alongside teachers and other support staff
