Aspire People is recruiting a caring and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join a well-established specialist SEN school in Oldham. The school provides education and specialist support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), catering for learners with moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties, autism, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and complex medical needs. The Role

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting pupils with their personal care needs throughout the school day. Working with teachers, therapists and other support staff, you will help ensure every pupil feels safe, comfortable and able to fully participate in learning and school life. Promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing will be central to everything you do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care in line with individual care plans.
  • Support pupils with toileting, changing and personal hygiene.
  • Promote dignity, privacy and independence at all times.
  • Assist pupils with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and the wider support team.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school care procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records where required.
  • Support pupils to access learning, activities and the wider school environment safely and comfortably.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
