Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing engaging EYFS lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
- Provide individual or small group support to children, helping them to access learning and achieve their potential.
- Assist in creating a safe, warm, and welcoming classroom environment, encouraging children's independence and social development.
- Observe and track children's progress, documenting achievements and sharing feedback with the class teacher.
- Help with daily routines, including lunchtime, break time, and helping children with personal care when necessary.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, working together to create a positive learning community.
- Promote inclusive practice, supporting children with a range of abilities and needs.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children, ideally in an EYFS setting (although training can be provided for the right candidate).
- A genuine passion for working with young children and helping them grow and develop.
- A good understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- Patience, flexibility, and creativity in approach to learning and behaviour management.
- An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Early Years Education (or equivalent) would be advantageous but not essential.
