Position: Primary School Teaching Assistant

Location: Opportunities Available Across Northamptonshire

Contract Type: Full-time - Temporary and Permanent Opportunities Available

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and supporting students in a variety of subjects.
  • Provide one‑on‑one support to children who need additional help, including those with learning difficulties or special educational needs (SEN).
  • Help set up and prepare classroom activities, ensuring resources are available.
  • Support children's social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and encouragement.
  • Monitor and track the progress of individual students, providing feedback to the teacher.
  • Assist with the classroom's day‑to‑day routines, including lunch and break times.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized classroom environment.
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.

Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
  • Patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with young learners.
  • Excellent in communication skills, both with children and adults.
