Welsh Speaking Learning Support Assistant Needed – Newport Schools
Location: Newport.
Competitive daily rates from £90 per day (dependent on experience).
Full‑time, part‑time and flexible opportunities are available. The role starts September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Help deliver engaging learning activities alongside the class teacher.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
- Support pupils with a range of learning needs.
- Assist with classroom preparation and daily learning activities.
- Communicate confidently through Welsh where required.
Qualifications
- Fluent Welsh speaker (essential).
- Experience working with children or young people is essential (school, childcare, coaching, youth work, tutoring, placements or volunteering).
- Positive, patient and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
