Key Responsibilities

  • Lead learning activities under the direction of teaching staff and deliver pre‑prepared lessons or learning activities.
  • Support individual pupils and small groups with specific learning needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCo and class teachers to plan, deliver, and assess interventions.
  • Provide pastoral support and promote positive behaviour strategies in line with the school's policies.
  • Assist in the development and adaptation of learning materials to meet pupils' individual needs.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting back to teachers and contributing to assessment and review meetings.
  • Support pupils with personal care needs, where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification is essential.
