Aspire People are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a Year 2 class at a mainstream primary school in Bury. This is a full-time role starting immediately, with the potential for a contract or permanent placement starting September 2026. Responsibilities
- Assist the Year 2 teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons that help children develop essential skills.
- Provide 1:1 support and work with small groups of students to help boost their literacy and numeracy skills, focusing on key areas such as phonics.
- Support children during targeted interventions to help them progress in specific areas of development.
- Help manage the classroom environment by promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all learners.
- Monitor student progress, assist with assessments, and help keep track of their learning journeys.
- Support children with additional needs, ensuring they feel confident and engaged throughout the day.
What We’re Looking For
- A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or at least 6 months of experience working in a similar role.
- Knowledge and experience of phonics and its application in early literacy development.
- Confidence in providing individualised support to children, both in group activities and 1:1 sessions.
- A patient, proactive, and flexible approach to supporting children with different learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills to work closely with the teacher and other staff members.
- A genuine passion for education and helping children grow academically and socially.
