A Specialist provision within a mainstream Primary school in Eccles requires SEN Teaching Assistants. The school caters for primary pupils with MLD, ASC, SCLN, SpLD, Visual impairments and HI. They are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference with children in Specialist settings.

Responsibilities

  • Create positive relationships with pupils and encourage positive choices and behaviour.
  • Provide general support within classes and work collaboratively with other LSAs and the class teachers.
  • Support may include assisting with planning, preparation, and delivery of activities as required by the classroom team.
  • Contribute to a supportive environment for pupils with additional needs.

Role Types & Hours

  • Long-term roles available
  • Full-time positions (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm or 8.30am-4.00pm)
  • Required to commit to the school on a long-term basis
  • Interested in securing a permanent role
  • Short-term roles available
  • Part-time and/or full-time positions (Varied/ad-hoc days - 8.30am-1.00pm / 12.00pm-3.30pm / 8.30am-3.30pm / 4.00pm)
  • Covering emergency/scheduled absences

Qualifications & Experience

Schools are keen to consider a variety of staff in terms of experience; you are likely to be successful whether you are an experienced SEN support assistant, a graduate looking for experience in specialist provision, or have current or prior experience in support/care/youth work etc. Ideally, if you have supported individuals with additional needs, that would be desirable; however, this is not essential to be successful.
