This role offers the chance to work with children who have a range of mild to complex needs, including global delay, autism, and non‑verbal communication, providing essential support and encouragement in their learning and development.
About the Role
- Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
- Location: Gorton, M18
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Contract: Full‑time, until July
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small group support for children with a range of needs, including global delay, autism, and those who are non‑verbal.
- Assist in delivering personalised learning activities, helping children build communication, social, and cognitive skills.
- Help create and maintain a safe and inclusive space for children, promoting positive behaviour and independence.
About You
- Experience working with children with special educational needs in a specialist setting is ideal, mainstream is considered.
- Familiarity with working with children who have autism, global delay, and non‑verbal communication.
- Compassionate, patient, and proactive, with the ability to adapt your approach to suit each child’s individual needs.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with the HLTA and other TAs to meet the needs of each child.
