Overview
Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant - SEN Classroom (mainstream primary) in Rochdale OL11. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with mild to complex needs in a supportive, inclusive setting.
About the Role
- Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
- Location: Rochdale OL11, mainstream primary school
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Contract: Full-time, until July 2026
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Work with children across a range of needs, including global delay, autism, and non-verbal communication.
- Support a class of 6-8 children, under the guidance of a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), alongside a team of 4 TAs.
- Assist with activities designed to develop children's communication and learning skills.
- Provide a calm and nurturing environment, encouraging children to engage and develop at their own pace.
- Promote the social and emotional development of children with varied needs, ensuring inclusion and participation.
About You
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in a classroom setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of children with global delay, autism, and those who are non-verbal.
- A patient, compassionate, and flexible approach to working with children with diverse needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting the HLTA and other TAs to meet the needs of each child.
