Aspire People are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN classroom in a mainstream primary school in Trafford. This role offers the chance to work with children who have a range of mild to complex needs, including global delay, autism, and non-verbal communication, providing essential support and encouragement in their learning and development.

About the Role:

  • Location: Trafford, mainstream primary school
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Contract: Full-time, until July
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with a range of needs, including global delay, autism, and those who are non-verbal.
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning activities, helping children build communication, social, and cognitive skills.
  • Collaborate with the Classroom Teacher and team of 3 TAs to ensure a cohesive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Help create and maintain a safe and inclusive space for children, promoting positive behaviour and independence.
  • Support children during classroom tasks, outdoor activities, and other school events, fostering both academic and personal growth.

About You:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with working with children who have autism, global delay, and non-verbal communication.
  • Compassionate, patient, and proactive, with the ability to adapt your approach to suit each child's individual needs.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with the HLTA and other TAs to meet the needs of each child.
