Aspire People are recruiting an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a primary school who require additional emotional and behavioural support. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who can build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure and help children overcome barriers to learning. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers and the school’s SEND team to provide consistent support that enables pupils to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Building trusting and positive relationships with children
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Delivering structured interventions and 1:1 support
- Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and SENCOs
Successful Candidate
- Recent UK primary school experience within the last 2 years
- Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed
