Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who particularly enjoys helping pupils close gaps in their learning? Aspire People are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants with strong intervention experience to support primary schools from September 2026. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, particularly those who need additional support with Reading, Phonics, Maths or Writing. Rather than simply providing general classroom support, you'll play an important role in helping pupils identify areas for development and build the confidence and skills they need to make progress.
The Role:
- Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions
- Supporting pupils with Reading and comprehension
- Delivering phonics and early reading support
- Supporting Maths and numeracy interventions
- Helping pupils develop writing skills
- Identifying and supporting gaps in learning
- Adapting activities to individual pupil needs
- Monitoring progress and feeding back to teaching staff
- Supporting pupils with SEND where required
- Building confidence, independence and engagement
We’re Looking For:
- Level 2/3 TA qualification or relevant experience
- Recent UK primary school experience
- Previous intervention experience
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
- Good knowledge of phonics, Reading, English and Maths
- Patient and encouraging approach
- Ability to build strong relationships with pupils
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Experience supporting Pupil Premium pupils, SEND or children working below age-related expectations would be particularly beneficial.
