We are recruiting for a dedicated and academically strong Learning Support Assistant to work within a secondary school in South Manchester from September 2026. This is a full‑time opportunity for the full academic year on a long‑term basis, with the possibility of a straight permanent appointment depending on the needs of the school.

This role is ideal for graduates considering a future career in education, educational psychology, teaching, or pastoral support. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong academic backgrounds in subjects linked to the secondary curriculum, including:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing academic support both inside and outside the classroom. You will help students build confidence, engage with learning, and reach their full potential. Ideal Candidate

  • A UK Bachelor's degree related to the secondary curriculum (English, Maths, Science, Psychology or similar)

  • A strong academic background and passion for supporting young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, supportive, and proactive attitude
  • An interest in education, SEN, or child development

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain a new DBS
  • Ability to provide references covering the last 2 years
  • Full‑time availability from September 2026
