Aspire People are recruiting for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive primary school team. This role would suit candidates who may not hold a Teaching Assistant qualification but do have strong experience working with children in other settings. Schools highly value experience from backgrounds such as sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, nursery work, care work, mentoring, and professional babysitting. The successful candidate will support pupils both academically and emotionally while helping create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Main Duties
- Providing classroom support alongside the teacher
- Supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Encouraging pupil engagement and participation
- Supporting children with additional learning or behavioural needs
- Helping maintain a positive classroom environment
- Assisting with activities, routines, and lesson preparation
The School Is Looking For Someone Who
- Has experience working with children or young people
- Ideally has worked within a UK primary school in the last 2 years or has transferable experience from roles such as coaching, youth work, mentoring, childcare, or tutoring
- Is confident, patient, and approachable
- Has strong behaviour management and communication skills
