Are you an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant with a passion for helping children make the very best start to their education?
Aspire People are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Didsbury to recruit a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team from September.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the school's new Reception cohort, working closely with a number of pupils who are presenting with emerging barriers to learning.
While no EHCPs are currently in place, the successful candidate will be confident supporting children with a range of additional needs, including suspected Autism and moderate learning difficulties, helping them to thrive within the classroom environment.
The Role
- Support children with emerging SEND needs and additional barriers to learning.
- Enable pupils to access learning through play-based and adult-led activities.
- Develop positive peer relationships, communication and social interaction skills.
- Build confidence, independence and resilience within the classroom.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive learning behaviours.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure every child receives the support they need to flourish.
- The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who
- Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- Has recent experience supporting children within an EYFS setting in either a primary school or private nursery.
- Has a sound understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development.
- Is patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with young children.
- Has experience supporting children with Autism, learning needs or SEND (desirable but not essential).
- Is committed to helping every child achieve a positive and successful start to school.

- A full-time role (Monday-Friday, term time only).
- Working hours of 8:20am-3:30pm.
