With schools preparing to reopen, Aspire People are currently recruiting experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support primary schools from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who has genuine experience supporting pupils with additional needs and wants to secure a rewarding role for the new academic year.

The schools we work with are looking for practitioners who can provide consistent 1:1 and small-group support while helping pupils access learning, develop independence and feel confident within the school environment.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
  • Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, communication and learning needs
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated activities
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Delivering targeted interventions where required
  • Working alongside class teachers and SENCOs
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, breaktimes and transitions
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
  • Recording and feeding back on pupil progress

We're Looking For:

  • Recent experience supporting pupils with SEND
  • Previous experience within a UK primary school
  • Strong understanding of individualised SEND support
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach
  • Confident managing challenging behaviour
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous, alongside experience supporting pupils with more complex needs.
