Aspire People are currently recruiting for an experienced and confident SEMH & Behaviour Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school. The school is seeking someone who can support pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs, helping them to successfully engage with learning and school life. This role would suit individuals with experience in education, youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or care settings who are looking to build long-term experience within schools.

The Role Includes:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across the school
  • Working closely with pupils to build trust and positive relationships
  • Supporting classroom learning and behaviour expectations
  • Delivering targeted support and intervention where required
  • Assisting with transitions, routines, and structured activities
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Is calm, resilient, and confident in challenging situations
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can remain consistent with behaviour expectations
  • Is passionate about making a positive impact in education
  • Has experience in a school or transferable child-focused setting
