Position: Intervention Support Teaching Assistant - Full-time

Location: Wavertree, Liverpool

Start Date: January 2026 - July 2026

Salary: £90 - £105 per day (dependent on experience)

Aspire People are working with a large, welcoming Primary School in Wavertree, Liverpool, who are seeking a committed and nurturing Teaching Assistant to support pupils in KS1. This full-time role is to start in January and is offered on a long-term basis until July 2026.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to deliver small-group interventions, while also providing targeted support to pupils within the classroom, including children with SEND needs. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school community that values inclusion, teamwork, and pupil progress.

The role:

  • Supporting learning across KS1 through targeted interventions and small-group work
  • Assisting with phonics, reading, writing, and early maths development
  • Providing in-class support for pupils with SEND, adapting tasks where required
  • Helping to implement individual support strategies and EHCP targets (where applicable)
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with class teachers, SEND staff, and senior leaders
  • Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teaching staff

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
  • Confidence supporting small groups and intervention work in KS1
  • Experience supporting children with SEND (autism, ADHD, learning delays, etc.)
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • The ability to provide two professional references
  • Have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check
