Aspire People are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Class Teacher to work in one of our inspirational SEND Schools in Horncastle on a full-time and long-term basis to start ASAP. Applications from ECTs are welcome to apply.
The School supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary age range with a wide range of learning disabilities as well as physical disabilities.
About the roleThe role will involve planning and delivering lessons to small classes of pupils with a wide range of SEND and challenging behaviour, including Severe Learning Difficulties, ASD, ADHD and SEMH. Some pupils may be non-verbal or pre-verbal, so the relationship-building skills and resilience of the successful candidate will be key.
- Stretching and challenging the learning and progress of all pupils.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- Differentiating lessons appropriately and working effectively alongside other members of staff to ensure all pupils are able to make progress and are taught in a way that is suited to their individual needs and learning styles.
The role is based in an inspirational SEND School in Horncastle. The school supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary School age-range with a range of SEND such as SLD, ASD, ADHD and SEMH. The school has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, hours and contract- Pay - Between (Apply online only) per day.
- Hours - 08.30-16.00
- Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract. Possibility of extending into next academic year.
- Start Date - ASAP.
- Location - Horncastle.
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
- QTS and Primary/Secondary/SEND School Teaching experience within the UK.
- Experience of short, medium and long-term planning.
- Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum.
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport.
- A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work.
- Strong organisation and communication skills.
