Are you a compassionate, resilient and motivated individual with a strong passion for supporting children with special educational needs? Do you have hands-on experience working with SEND and managing challenging behaviour, and are you seeking a long-term, full-time role within a nurturing primary setting? We are currently recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary SEND provision in Leeds (LS9). This is a fantastic long-term opportunity to support pupils who benefit from consistency, structure and positive relationships.
SEND Teaching Assistant - The Role:
- Primary SEND provision located in Leeds LS9
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs and challenging behaviour
- Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Encourage engagement, confidence and wellbeing
- Assist with learning across the primary curriculum
- Track and support pupil progress alongside teachers and the SEN team
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment
Key Information:
- Long-term, full-time position
- Monday to Friday, during school hours
- Term-time only
- Supportive senior leadership team and experienced SEN staff

Person Specification:
- Essential: experience supporting children with SEND
- Essential: experience managing challenging behaviour
- Calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills

- Team Teach training is desirable, or willingness to complete training
- A positive role model with a nurturing and supportive personality
