Aspire People are looking to recruit Learning Mentors for their partnership schools in South Birmingham. This role involves guiding children through their learning and supporting teachers to achieve progression and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support whole-school groups and individual children with behaviour management.
  • Use a patient and nurturing approach with an understanding of children's behaviour.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques.
  • Mark, plan and deliver any work that is set.
  • Liaise with the senior leadership team, parents and external agencies.
  • Act as a permanent member of staff in a full-time learning mentor position.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree-qualified education professional.
  • Experience in support or education work.
  • Ability to mediate, have difficult conversations and relate to issues children may be facing.
  • Experience working with mixed-ability and multiple age groups in high SEND schools.
