Aspire People is excited to partner with a caring, inclusive primary school in Kirkby that is seeking a compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This role begins immediately and will run until July 2026, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. The Role
- Provide targeted, one-to-one or small group support to students with SEND across KS1 & KS2.
- Assist the class teachers and SENDCo in implementing personalised support plans, strategies, and classroom adaptations.
- Help children access the full curriculum, ensuring they are engaged and supported both academically and socially.
- Promote the development of independence, self-confidence, and well-being to help students achieve their best.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the individual progress of each child.
What We're Looking For
- An experienced Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) with a strong background in supporting children with special educational needs.
- A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to building trust and understanding with children who have additional needs.
- A flexible team player, able to collaborate with teachers, support staff, SENDCo, and external agencies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- A strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of children.
- Must be able to provide two professional references.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
